Fairlie is the nearby town for meals, supplies and a change of pace after a day outside. The region’s visitor organisation highlights fishing in local rivers and Lake Ōpuha, as well as golf, walks and winter skiing at Mt Dobson.
Allow around ten minutes by car between the cottage and Fairlie; allow more time for waters and destinations further afield. Check routes and conditions before setting out.

We chose to live in rural South Canterbury for the peace, the community and the fishing. Lyndon is a keen fly fisher, and Copper John gives guests a private place to come home to while exploring the area.
